Teach Your Dog to Come Back with Fun Games

Teach your dog to come when called, even with distractions, through fun games.

Description

We will show you games to help you build the skills you need to teach your dog to come to you in all kinds of situations. Along the way, you’ll gain a better relationship with your dog.  This class will give you the tools you need to work towards better recall with your dog.

During this course, you will practice recalling your dog past other dogs, people, and food distractions.  You will practice collar grabs and build a relationship of trust with your dog.

This course is for all dogs who work well in close proximity to other dogs who are running.  If your dog has ANY dog reactivity, this course is NOT for you.  Please take a private lesson prior to enrolling if you have any concerns.

This course is useful for handlers who enjoy off-leash sports such as agility or hunting and or who enjoy taking their dogs to off-leash locations such as swimming or hiking.

This course is primarily inside, but occasionally we will work outside, weather permitting.

What to bring

  • 100 small treats for your dog.  Please bring 2 or 3 different kinds that range from super exciting to just “yum.”
  • 4 to a 6-foot leash (no retractable leashes)
  • Flat collar or harness (no prong, pinch, electric, or choke collars)

  • We recommend a treat pouch.  This can be purchased from your instructor.
