Whether you're hoping to join with your dog or support the program by volunteering your time, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know.  (Please attend this seminar without your dog!)

Explain what a Therapy Dog is - 
  • Legal and practical definitions of therapy dogs
  • The key differences between therapy dogs, emotional support animals, and service dogs
  • The temperament and behavioral traits essential for a successful therapy dog
  • How to qualify at various therapy team levels
  • The therapy dog evaluation process
The Details of Volunteering with Dog Alliance - 
  • A breakdown of costs, required training, and included resources
  • An overview of the different volunteer roles and opportunities available
  • The time commitment, responsibilities, and expectations of our volunteers
  • Where and when you can volunteer, including workplace settings
  • How our volunteer scheduling and tracking system supports your experience
  • The ongoing training and support you’ll receive from our staff
  • How our program is funded and sustained
You’ll also have the chance to meet experienced Therapy Dog teams, ask questions, and hear first-hand what it's like to be part of this heartwarming and impactful work.  You will get to experience the joy and inspiration that comes from making a difference!
