The CGC Evaluation covers 10 key skills: 

  1. Accepting a Friendly Stranger 

  1. Sitting Politely for Petting 

  1. Appearance and Grooming 

  1. Walking on a Loose Leash 

  1. Walking Through a Crowd 

  1. Sit and Down on Command and Staying in Place 

  1. Coming When Called 

  1. Neutral to Another Dog 

  1. Calm and confident around Distractions 

  1. Supervised Separation from handler

Prerequisites

This Evaluation is open to anyone!  

We strongly recommend completing an AKC Canine Good Citizen course before attempting the Evaluation.
