AKC Canine Fitness & Fun - 1
Build your dog's strength, flexibility, body awareness, and coordination by teaching fun exercises using a variety of equipment and props.
Description
NOTE: This course is taught inside our air-conditioned training room. Great way to get your dog some exercise while staying nice and cool.
This foundation fitness class is a fun, active class for healthy dogs inspired by the AKC Fit Dog course. Dogs that are in good physical condition are less likely to get injured.
You will learn proper form and posture for each exercise that is taught. Many forms of training will be utilized to teach new skills such as clicker training, luring, and capturing. Equipment such as the Blue K-9 Klimb, cavaletti poles, balance mats, and wobble disks will be utilized to keep the class fun and challenging. Body awareness, core body strength, balance work, strength, and stretching are skills that will be taught. Exercises will be adjusted based on the dog's age and current fitness level.

- Bow
- Squats

Prerequisites
Age of dog: 16 weeks and older
Previous classes: Puppy Training - Ages 8 weeks to 20 weeks, Puppy Manners - Ages 14 weeks to 6-months, or Beginner Dog Obedience & Manners.
Dogs must know how to sit, down, and stay prior to enrolling.
