There is nothing better in this world than welcoming a new puppy to your home. 

Join us to learn more about socializing and training very young puppies.  These are the most critical weeks of your puppy's life.  

Skills Taught:

  • Puppy stages of development
  • Socialization – how to socialize your young puppy so you will have a calm and confident adult dog
  • How to teach your dog to sit for attention instead of jumping
  • How to handle puppy teething, mouthing, and chewing
  • Teaching self-control – when putting on a collar and during feeding time
  • Basic cues including sit, name recognition, down and recall
  • Early leash walking skills based on your dog’s desire to be near you
  • How to teach your puppy to chew their toys and not your arms, kids, or shoes
  • Using treats as a reward - soft mouth and healthy treats
  • Healthy ways to play with your adorable puppy
  • Settling
  • Body language

End of Class Evaluation:  You and your pup will be evaluated using the AKC Star Puppy test on week 6 of the class. If you would like to receive a certificate from AKC, additional fees to AKC will be required.

Prerequisites

Age of puppy on first day of class:  8 weeks to 20 weeks

We ask that your puppy be in your home for two full weeks before you begin classes with us.

Proof of age appropriate vaccinations required.
