Service Dog Manners 3 - Public Access and Tasks
You have trained hard and are ready for very complex environments. This course will prep you for buffet lines, movie theatres, airports, live concerts, and more.
Description
You have passed the Canine Good Citizen in a new environment without treats and have been working with your dog for about a year. Let's get you ready to take the public access test. This course is a combination of classroom exercises and outings. It will cover advanced situations. Your dog must be solid on all the basics and very comfortable working in close proximity to other dogs and many people.
This course is designed to help you feel calm and confident with your dog in a variety of public settings. Outings will be to locations typically only open to service dogs and or set up with special permission from the facility (airport, movie, HEB Center).
This course is 6 weeks long. It includes outings lasting approximately 1 hour.

- Botanical Gardens
- Canoeing
- Water Park
- Outdoor Concert
- Food court.
- Coffee shop
- Restaurant / fast food
- Indoor / Outdoor Restaurant
- Formal Restaurant
- Hotel Rooms
- Hotel Lobby
- Exercise Gym
- School Gymnasium
- Concert
- Airport, including going thru security
- Movie theater
- Cedar Park Fire/Emergency Practice Grounds
- Train and a Museum
- HEB Center
Evaluation and Planning: By the end of this course, you and your dog partner should be able to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen Community evaluation in an unfamiliar location without treats. This course may be repeated. If a student takes the course a second time, the AKC Canine Good Citizen Community Optional Exercises will be used for testing. A written evaluation and plan is provided at the end of the course, every time it is taken.
The goal of this course is to get you ready for the Dog Alliance Public Access and Task Test and full certification as a service dog team.

Prerequisites
Age of Dog: One year and older or instructor approval
Prerequisite: Prior attendance at the Service Dog Program Introduction Seminar and successful completion of Service Dog Manners 2.
This course is for Train Your Own Service Dog program members with an approved application on file. The fee will be discounted during checkout when you input your membership number.
Outings vary every session. This course may be repeated.
