Volunteer Handler - Birth to 10-weeks Socialization Training

Help us build confident puppies, one step at a time.

Description

This class prepares Volunteer Handlers to help with socialization for the first 10-weeks of a puppies life!  You’ll learn all about how to help young puppies explore the world in a safe, kind way during their first 10 weeks—when socialization matters most.

We’ll cover:

  • What early socialization is (and isn’t)
  • How to plan age-appropriate exposures
  • How to introduce new sights, sounds, people, and gentle handling
  • Spot stress vs. comfort in puppies
  • Use positive reinforcement and support confidence-building.

You’ll leave with a clear plan to help each puppy feel safe, curious, and ready to learn!

You must be an approved Volunteer Handler (background/onboarding already completed) to participate.  Interested in becoming a Volunteer Handler at the Dog Alliance, let us know!
