Service Dog Advanced Volunteer Training

For Service Dogs in training looking to fine-tune polite behaviors and improve emotional regulation in high-distraction scenarios.

Description

In this class, participants will learn practical techniques for managing greetings, transitions, and triggers in real-world environments.

This hands-on workshop will help you build stronger, more reliable behavior in your service dog-in-training by focusing on key advanced skills:

  • Polite Greetings Everywhere: Reinforce calm and controlled greetings in the workroom, at the kennel door, and in daily interactions. Includes exiting kennels with manners.

  • Managing Fence Arousal: Learn strategies to reduce overstimulation and barking when your dog is near fences or enclosed areas where distractions are common.

  • Handling the Doorbell Excitement: Teach your dog what to do when the doorbell rings—without chaos or over-arousal.

  • Fixation on Other Dogs: Get tools to redirect and disengage your dog when they become overly focused or fixated on another dog.

This workshop is ideal for those who have already established basic obedience and are ready to work on real-life challenges with calm, focus, and confidence.
