Physical Cues vs. Verbal Cues — what, when, and how to use each
Modern agility teams succeed when body language and words work together. Physical cues and verbal cues should compliment each other in a consistent way so the dog is both clear on the path to take as well as the behavior to perform on the obstacle.
In this seminar, you’ll learn when to lead with motion and position, when to rely on trained verbal cues, and how to blend both so your dog gets a crystal-clear message.
What you’ll do
- When to use body cues, when to use word cues
- “This or that” paths: try both styles and see what works
- Take-home drills: exercises for verbal discrimination to take home and train!
Prerequisites
This seminar is appropriate for anyone in Agility classes.
