Description

If you have a strong bond with your dog and want professional support that follows Assistance Dogs International (ADI) standards and best practices, this program prepares you and your dog for Public Access, step-by-step with our guidance and support.  

This Seminar is for: Civilians with a qualifying disability—including PTSD, TBI, and mobility challenges—who live within a 45-minute drive of our Cedar Park, Texas campus and want to train their own dog. 

Dog prerequisites 

  • Age: 16 months to 4 years old 

  • AKC Canine Good Citizen (passed evaluation) 

  • Your dog must be suitable for service work (fitness/health and temperament screening required during application process) 

In this Seminar, we cover

  • More about Dog Alliance and Assistance Dogs International standards 

  • An overview of the pathway from foundations to public-access skills 

  • What tasks a service dog can perform (e.g., interruption, retrieval, grounding, mobility support) 

Costs vary by class/session as listed in the Course Catalogue. Additional fees apply at steps from application through certification.
